It started with wanting to make another quilt, one for my youngest son. I wanted to up-cycle materials, and wanted to make something boyish but not babyish, something that would last. \u00a0I went looking at the thrift store and came home with bags of 100% cotton mens’ shirts. Lots of variety of pattern and shades, but all blues and whites and some greens. A bunch of simple 9-patches later\u2026.<\/p>\n

And then some wool batting and a cream queen-sized flannel sheet that didn’t fit any bed we still owned\u2026.<\/p>\n

And there was a quilt! \u00a0It’s really soft and warm and cozy.<\/p>\n

And somehow, once he had his own quilt, then he needed his own bed too. We built the bed ourselves, using plans from Ana White as a starting point but sort of going off on our own and I painted it (and scuffed it). \u00a0I like it better than the beds we bought for the older two.\u00a0<\/p>\n
