We wanted a new one, lighter colored and longer for our space. So we made it. Starting with plans from Ana White for inspiration, then making it our own design. \u00a0It&#8217;s simple, sturdy, solid, and long. Did I say long? It&#8217;s 8 feet long. We can fit 4 people on a side without being too squished.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" alt=\"2MG 23534 pt\" src=\"http:\/\/whatrosemade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2MG_23534-pt.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Good for hiding under. Those legs are 4x4s.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" alt=\"2MG 23532 pt\" src=\"http:\/\/whatrosemade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2MG_23532-pt.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And for climbing on? Well, it&#8217;s new. They were exploring.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" alt=\"2MG 23539 pt\" src=\"http:\/\/whatrosemade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2MG_23539-pt.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nice big screws that hold the legs on. The legs can be taken off for moving if necessary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" alt=\"2MG 23592 pt\" src=\"http:\/\/whatrosemade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2MG_23592-pt.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I found some new chairs at the thrift store, and at this point had sanded and painted and polycrylic&#8217;d one chair.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" alt=\"P1020489\" src=\"http:\/\/whatrosemade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/P1020489.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Two more chairs done. They&#8217;re sort of &#8220;shabby chic&#8221; &#8211; meaning I painted and then sanded some off and scuffed them a bit. Then applied the polycrylic to give them some protection from further scuffing or staining. They&#8217;re easy to wipe clean.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" alt=\"2MG 23739 pt\" src=\"http:\/\/whatrosemade.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2MG_23739-pt.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then Eric made a bench out of a huge chunk of cedar and some 4x4s. It fits one full side of the table and seats as many as want to squash on there &#8211; I think we could probably fit 6 kids for birthday cake.<\/p>\n<p>This table gives us room to spread out for art projects or homeschooling, and we can push projects aside and still have space to eat lunch if we need to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We built a table!
